The study delved into the myriad challenges faced by junior high school students amidst the pandemic, specifically focusing on their impact on academic performance. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational research approach, the study employed a meticulously crafted questionnaire as its primary data-gathering tool. Drawing data from a sample of 428 junior high school students enrolled at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Laboratory High School, the study unearthed significant insights. Predominantly, student isolation and the altered learning environment emerged as the most formidable hurdles encountered. These challenges exhibited a noteworthy correlation with the academic performance of the respondents.

Conversely, factors such as self-regulation, technological literacy, technological sufficiency, technological complexity, and learning resource challenges failed to demonstrate a significant relationship with academic performance. Consequently, it is suggested that school administrators orchestrate a series of webinars or seminars aimed at equipping students with strategies to navigate these challenges effectively. Furthermore, parents should be empowered through similar seminars to better support their children in the home learning environment. Additionally, educators are urged to maintain close vigilance over students' progress, ensuring timely intervention where necessary. By fostering a collaborative approach encompassing students, parents, and educators, the educational community can mitigate the adverse effects of these challenges and foster academic success amidst unprecedented circumstances.
